BARINGO :CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT TO RETHINK FULL OPENING UP OF SCHOOLS IN JANUARY. 



With the rise of Covid-19 deaths in schools, Baringo leaders have called upon government to reconsider full opening up of schools next year January.



Speaking yesterday during the burial of the late Harun Kipkiror in Poi, Baringo North, the leaders saying it was worrying that teachers and students are losing their lives to the deadly disease saying that the opening of school should wait till the spread of the virus subsides.



Saimo Kipsaraman Member of County Assembly John Aengwo urged Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha to postpone the opening since the country have lost teachers and learners after government opened doors for grade four, class eight and form four candidates last month.


Kenya Union for Post Primary Education Teachers National Secretary Tertiary Sammy Chelanga appealed to the government to provide face masks to learners since most parents are unable to provide for their kids.
