A family in Kimose village Mogotio subcounty is crying for justice after their daughter was butchered in cold blood and her body thrown into River Perkera on Thursday last week.

Ann Keitany, a mother of two who was living with her husband in Marigat town was at her home on Thursday night at around 11:40pm when she went to take a bath in a bathroom outside the house, never to come back.

On that night, her husband who hosts an evening radio show at one of the radio stations in Marigat town had not arrived home and upon arriving at around 12:10 Am, he didn't find his wife inside the house.

That was when he inquired from Anne's younger sister who was taking care of the kids, where her wife had gone and he was told that she had gone to take a bath outside and when he went to look for her, he found a pair of slippers inside the bathroom and a blood stained kitchen knife.

Police reports indicate that the husband then proceeded to search for her everywhere within the compound which proved to be futile.

In the morning, a search was conducted and that was when the lifeless body of Anne was found in River Perkerra two kilometers away with a deep cut on the neck.

According to Fancy Jeruto ,Anne's sister, her sister had been complaining of family issues which had driven her into depression and she was to go to her rural home on Thursday morning for prayers but she didn't manage after she was denied permission by her husband.
