RANDOM THOUGHTS: President Mwai Kibaki left a thriving country with only Ksh 1.8T in both domestic and Foreign debts. Our current situation is in excess of Ksh 7T i debts. We borrow Ksh 2.5B everyday.
While we read a budget of close to Ksh 3T, KRA's target for the year is a paltry 1.2T. Our external debt is over Ksh 3.5T which is almost entirely dollar denominated. This means everytime our local currency (Ksh) loses to the greenback by 1%, our external debt increases by Ksh 35B without receiving any coin from our debtors. I mean when you see on TV that our Ksh moved from 107 to 108 to the US Dollar, our debt increases by around Ksh 35B, just like that.

But we have been told some document has solutions for all this mis leadership and clearly lopsided priorities. If we cannot afford to remit to counties 15% already provided, how are we going to afford the proposed 35%?
